Welcome to the world of Col Legno, where a passion for wood and music merges in harmony.
My name is Vincent, and before founding Col Legno, I was a professional clarinetist. Music has always been at the heart of my life, but another passion has always accompanied me: working with wood. Inspired by the natural beauty of wood and the sensory emotions it can evoke, I decided to venture into craftsmanship.
The story of Col Legno is one of career change and passion. Col legno is a musical term used to describe a playing technique for string instruments, where the strings are struck with the wood of the bow. This term literally means "with wood," and it perfectly represents the connection between my past as a musician and my present as a creator.
In 2022, after obtaining my diploma as a carpenter, I created Col Legno with the goal of offering handmade wooden objects from my workshop. Each creation is a celebration of the sensuality and diversity of wood, with its different shades and essences.
I am deeply committed to producing high-quality artisanal work. I seek simplicity in design and form, exemplary finishing, and the use of the finest noble materials. Each piece I create reflects this pursuit of perfection and respect for the material.
The names of my creations pay tribute to the great French composers I admire, such as Debussy, Ravel, or Saint-Saëns. They symbolize elegance, finesse, and boldness, qualities I strive to incorporate into every object I make. My desire is to create pieces that resonate with you, inspire you, and bring a touch of authenticity and beauty to your daily life.
